Bali is home to several beautiful pagodas, or "pura" as they are called in Balinese, which are integral to its rich cultural and religious landscape. One of the most famous is the Besakih Temple, also known as the Mother Temple of Bali. It’s the largest and holiest temple complex on the island, located on the slopes of Mount Agung.
Another significant pagoda is the Ulun Danu Beratan Temple, situated on the shores of Lake Beratan. This temple is known for its stunning lakeside setting and beautiful tiered pagodas that seem to float on the water.
Pura Luhur Uluwatu is also notable. Perched on a cliff overlooking the Indian Ocean, it offers dramatic views and is a popular spot for watching traditional Kecak dance performances during sunset.
Each of these temples features traditional Balinese architecture, including intricate carvings, tiered pagodas, and serene courtyards, reflecting the island’s deep spiritual heritage.
